Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946, to Eleanor Cowell. In this time period it was an embarrassment to not know who the father was of your child, so Eleanor took Ted to live with her grandparents. As he was raised by her grandparents he didn't know that his mother was really his sister or who his father really was. In later years when Ted would be arrested investigators would look into his past and try to figure out who his father was. They couldn't find anyone that Eleanor named so they linked it to her father who was known for violence and assaulting women. At a very early age Ted would show signs of his father. His grandmother remembers one night waking up being surrounded by sharp knives that none other than three year old Ted would have placed. Ted would later find out who his sister was and they would leave town for a fresh start in Washington and live with her cousins.
While in Washington Eleanor met a man by the name of Johnny Bundy. They would soon later get married and Ted would take on the last name Bundy. Johnny and Eleanor would have four children together and it seemed to Ted as if he was being pushed away. That wasn't the case at all with Johnny. Johnny tried to include Ted in many family events but Ted would refuse to go anywhere. Ted just wanted to be left alone in private. As he was left alone he would go out and dig through trash for pornographic pictures and sometimes would hide himself to watch women get undressed. Ted didn't seem like this at school. People said everyone knew him and thought of him as a very attractive passionate mountain skier, (the equipment he used was all stolen). Ted stayed out of trouble most of the time in high school. He only got arrested twice in high school for burglary and auto theft. Soon college came and no body would realize all that he was capable of.
Ted Bundy went to the University of Washington where he would study psychology and would meet the girl of his dreams. Her name was Stephanie Brooks and she was tall, skinny, attractive, and had long dark hair with bangs. Ted thought it was true love, or so he thought. After several months of dating Stephanie broke the relationship off and destroyed Ted's heart. She would later leave the state and this caused Ted to be on the hunt for her. Investigators believe this is what caused the serial killer to come out in Ted Bundy. Women would start disappearing from the northwestern region of the country and would later be found... dead.
